The Metropolitan Region Task Force is back

After an arduous five-day stint on the front lines, members of the Metropolitan Region Task Force returned to the capital after providing critical support in fighting the wildfires ravaging the Biobío Region.
The delegation was under the strategic command of Dr. Sergio Pinilla Rosales, Vice President of the Metropolitan Region Commanders’ Council. For its part, the Puente Alto Fire Department contingent was led by its 3rd Commander, Mr. Oscar Valdivia Sandoval.
The institution highlighted the professionalism and dedication to service of the volunteers, who fulfilled their mission, reaffirming the spirit of solidarity of the Chilean Fire Department.
Although this task force has returned to its home stations, authorities noted that the alert in the southern part of the country remains in effect; however, the relief effort and the work carried out by the metropolitan delegation have been essential in providing some respite to the affected communities.
